After getting to bed around 9pm, I was awake at 5am, packed up and cleaned out the wood stove, and was out of my cute cabin by 6am. I made good time on trail and though it wasn’t intentional, I made it to Foss and Knowlton Pond right at sunrise.
With those beautiful views to bolster me, I made it back to the trailhead by Golden Road by 8:45am after stopping for pictures of Katahdin with Abol Stream in the foreground. All in all, a lovely day. I then changed into dry clothes and started my long 6.5-7 hour drive back home.
