I was up bright and early to get a quick start up the Osceolas from Tripoli Rd. I drove the ~15 minutes from my campsite over to the trailhead, and even managed to get a spot in the small parking lot, despite the big crowds already there at 6:30am. The mosquitoes were prolific, but only mobbed me if I was holding still, so I kept moving. I was the 2nd person to the summit of East Osceola and didn’t start running into bigger groups of hikers until I was descending Osceola back to my car. On my way down, I ran into Stephanie and we had a short chat before the bugs moved us along. It’s always wonderful to see her, and so far, we’ve always just bumped into each other by random happenstance!
