Miles: ~6 (up to Chinidere peak, and up to the car campground)
Elevation gain/loss: ~1000′
I was awake at 6am, despite trying to sleep in. I packed up, leaving my tentsite and headed to Chinidere Peak to try and get service. At the summit, I had service for 20 minutes before the signal completely cut out. I tried for another 20 minutes, but it did not come back. I then headed back to camp, though my foam mat dropped off my pack halfway down and I had to go back for it.
I then headed to the car campground to snag one of the 6 sites for Emily and Jacob to meet me tonight. After setting up, I headed to the lake for a swim. After my swim, I hung out at the campsite for the rest of the day until Emily and Jacob (and Potato and Anya) arrived at 7:45pm, though Sara, Zach, and Nora kindly welcomed me to their site and fed me smores, dinner, seltzer, and beer and asked me endless questions about hiking the PCT.
