Start/Finish: Falling Waters TH
Miles: 9.89
Elevation gain/loss: 3563
After parking at the Falling Waters TH to optimize daylight, I headed up the trail through the Lafayette campground which was bustling. I made quick work to get to Lonesome Lake and then the real climbing started. The last time I climbed the Kinsmans there was snow, so I was surprised by how steep and how many rocks there were, but I just kept moving. The round trip took me 4.25 hours, with a quick stop to chat with AT thru-hikers on the summit of S Kinsman and for potable water at the hut. I made it back to my car before dark, which was a nice touch!
