I parked my car on the side of the road by Pine Bend Brook TH. When I went to prep my bike for the 3mi ride, I found that my bike tires were completely flat. I put my bike back on the rack, and started jogging. I ran for just under a mile before two rock climbers picked me up.
I headed out from Olivarian Brook TH at 10:30am, running the first mile or two. As I climbed, I joined the low clouds and started getting buffeted with wind. It wasn’t raining, but it also wasn’t not raining… everything was very wet, including every rock surface. The slick surfaces slowed me down, and most of my gear ended up saturated with water. It was cold enough that I had to keep moving very quickly to keep the chill off. Climbing up South Tri Slide, I had to climb on all fours to keep traction. I was happy to get off of rock slab and onto dirt trail as I headed down Pine Bend Brook.
