So the heavens opened yet again last night, pouring buckets of rain until around 6:45am when it finally tapered off. While it wasn’t actively raining during our hike, everything (especially rocks, roots, and bog boards) was soaking wet and treacherously slippery. We climbed up to Laraway Mountain first thing in the morning, and then passed by Laraway Lookout (completely socked in by clouds), Codding Hollow Rd, Plot Rd, Roundtop Shelter (nice view), and Prospect Rock (nice view), before passing over the suspension bridge and getting to VT 15.

We arrived at the VT 15 trailhead by 1:30pm. We called Nye’s BnB, and Marsha picked us up within 10 minutes. We went back to the BnB, got settled, connected to the wifi, showered, gave Marsha our load of laundry, and then she drove us into town. We had a late lunch at Johnson’s Chinese Kitchen with enough leftovers to take care of dinner, and then strolled across the street to Ebenezer Books. After browsing the bookstore, we went to Sterling Market for a resupply. We were pleasantly surprised with how robust their selection was. It was extremely impressive, given the size of the town. After we were done, Marsha picked us up and brought us back to the BnB. We relaxed for a while and then ate our leftovers before heading to bed. We’ve asked for breakfast at 6:30am. Tomorrow should have some intense climbing in the middle, but we’ll rock it! We have two nights/three days until we arrive in Waterbury for our zero day.
