Start/end: Old Bridle Path trailhead
Mileage: 13.01
Elevation gain/loss: 4787′
GaiaGPS track
After getting up at 4:45am and driving 3.5-4 hours, I started out from the trailhead by 8:45am. I was able to bareboot the first few miles without any postholing, all the way up to the Lonesome Lake hut. At the hut, I put on my microspikes and left them on for the remainder of the hike. I passed perhaps two dozen people on my way to the Kinsman summits. Higher up, there was perhaps 20 MPH winds, but the trail was mostly in the trees and protected from the wind.

After summiting the Kinsmans by 11:15am, I headed back down to the hut and hiked around the lake, where I took the Dodge Cutoff trail to Hi-Cannon trail around 1pm. On my way up Cannon, perhaps half a dozen people passed me as they descended. I made the summit of Cannon by 2:15pm, and then headed back down, passing back over the 6 people who had started descending much earlier. I made it back to the trailhead by 3:30pm, beating the rain by perhaps 15 minutes.
