We started out from Rush Creek at 6:15am, after getting up at 5:05am after we both got terrible night’s sleep. Neither of us was in a very good mood or a stable emotional space. We had some deep conversations throughout the day about our planned itinerary, the feasibility of it, and possible alterations we might be able to make.
We went over Island Pass, and stopped for Toby to take a swim at Thousand Island Lake. We then passed through a number of magnificent lakes, while the blue sky became obscured by dark clouds.
It rained on us off and on for a few hours, with dark menacing clouds that thankfully only brought rain and skipped thunderstorms. The rain stopped in time for us to make dinner at Rosalie Lake before pushing onward.
We found a campsite at 7:45pm and set up. We quickly got into the tent by 8:15pm, squashed the 10 mosquitos that snuck in, and got settled and to sleep by 9pm. Tomorrow will be Red’s Meadow, which holds showers, resupply, power outlets, and a cafe!
