I was up at 5:15, and out by 5:45am. I walked through more burn areas, amd saw logging machines a few times. I was at the road by 8:45am. Hitching took a little while, but I was into town by 9:20am.
I picked up my box with new shoes, socks, and body glide from the post office and then hung out at the motel, doing laundry and other town chores. I ordered takeout from the restaurant next door (Crave) and then checked into my room around 1pm. I did my resupply (and saw Quadzilla [CYTC] resupplying too) and hand laundry, only to have a huge gust of wind (that created a dust devil) steal one of my drying gaiters off of the railing. I searched for over 20 minutes and never managed to find it.
I’ve solidified my plans for the next week of hiking and feel really good about it. I’m excited to see some friends from Reno in only six days!
