After a leisurely morning and a stop at Stuart’s for coffee, I rolled into the parking lot around 7:15 and then greeted everyone as they trickled in for a 7:30am start! Megan, Katie, Andy, and Jeff all joined me for my final ADK46 hike. We walked down the Lake Road for 3 miles, until we crossed the river just below the dam and started to climb. We took a wrong turn, but just enjoyed going to the falls. Then we headed up the climb. By comparison to the last 4 weeks, it wasn’t a substantial or notable climb. We were all light hearted and enjoying the promise of a light day and an early finish. We made it to the socked-in summit by 10:30am, celebrated with candles and a snack, and then tromped back the way we’d come. We had good conversation as we walked the road and made it back to the parking lot for a 1pm finish. And just like that, my Single Season Winter ADK46 was done. Thirty days, start to finish, with the help of some awesome friends.
