I was up at 5:30, and out by 6:10am. I met a bunch of different folks – Energizer; Bugs – a retired section hiker from CA; and Build A Bear, who I first met back in SoCal in April.
I showed up at road at 11:25am but it took until ~12:15 to get a hitch for the 20-minute winding ride into town. Mohawk, Zen, Coca-Cola, and I got a ride from a Marine instructor named Braydon. I did a quick resupply and charged my phone and iPhone at the outfitters, and then managed to get a ride with a trail angel (Molly) at 1:50pm, arriving at trail at 2:15pm. I hit the trail and managed to get to a misty, socked in camp spot by 8pm.
Deuce, Tohe, Smiles, and two others were my camping buddies for the nightt, camping in the damp clouds.
