I started out from the Garfield trailhead on Gale River Loop Rd with Toby right around 7:15am. We methodically hiked together up toward the summit of Garfield, with Toby having dizziness and vertigo as we ascended. We summited Garfield around 10:30am and sat down for a bit to have a snack. Two grayjays joined us, eager to help us out. Afterwards, Toby headed back the way we’d come and I headed towards Lafayette. I made the summit of Lafayette by 12:45pm, dodged around the dozens of people, and headed over to Lincoln. I was eager to get to Little Haystack and lose most of the crowds as they headed down Falling Waters. I ducked into the trees again and made quick time over to Liberty. I made the summit by 2:15 and Flume by 2:45. Then it was a long but fairly smooth descent down Osseo Trail to meet up with Lincoln Woods. It was smooth enough that I ran the last few miles of trail, and made it to the bridge just around 4pm, where Toby met me. We strolled back to the car and then drove back to our motel.
