After hiking Slide earlier in the morning, we started from the trailhead at 11:15am and finished in 2.25 hours. The trail was very well traveled and the parking lot had at least half a dozen cars. The top portion of the ascent was quite steep and we took our time climbing up the softening snow. We emerged from the woods into the clearing with the fire tower and found ourselves overlapping with a few other climbers. We chatted with them for a few minutes, and then went up the fire tower as far as we could get (the trap door to access the full tower was locked) for some windy, icy views. After pictures and a surprise cinnamon roll to celebrate me finishing my Northeast 115 in winter, we headed back down. The descent was steep enough we were able to enjoy some quality butt sledding! All in all, a great way to close out this project.
