I met up with my friend Samantha and her dog at the trailhead and we headed up the trail. We made good time and didn’t encounter snow until halfway up. I put on my spikes and the snow actually made the ascent and descent easier because it covered up the rocks. We turned on our headlamps maybe 5 minutes before the summit and we were able to see sunset light still on the horizon. The wind was a bit wicked, so we didn’t linger but headed back down. The water crossings were all easy enough, with rock hops across above water. Our round trip took less than 2 hours!
