Summits: Cabot
Start/Finish: York Pond East TH
Miles: 9.12
Elevation gain/loss: 3012′
After sleeping out at a dispersed camping spot overnight, I started hiking just before 5:30am. It was magic to be on snow-free trails! It was 38 degrees at the start but the day heated up quickly. Near the summit, I bumped into a grouse that hung out with me for a while before flying away. I made quick time on the descent and got back to my car by 9am.
