Summits: Carter Dome; Hight; South, Middle, North Carter; Moriah
Start: 19 Mile Brook TH
Finish: Carter-Moriah TH (with bike-back to start)
Miles: 16.3
Elevation gain/loss: 6335’/6969′
After a quick Cabot hike and a drive around dropping my bike on the way, I started from 19 Mile Brook TH at 10am. Some bugs had hatched since last week, particularly noseeums. Lower elevations had black flies and deer flies.
I forgot how hot and how little water there can be on this ridge, and I was quite low on water for the last few hours. The bugs kept me moving quickly, and I finished up my hike by 5:30pm, with lots of time to bike the ~6.7mi and 700′ back to my car.
