After a reset at the campsite and picking Toby up, we headed over to Waterville Valley. Toby hung out, and I ran up the mountain for a quick summer. I left at 11am and was back by 1:15pm.
The trail has even more rock stairs than the last time I could see the stairs, which was a mixed blessing. I was lucky and managed to thread the needle between thunderstorms, though the humidity was so intense it almost didn’t matter. I was glad to get back into air conditioning, even if for just a little while.
We then hung around town, went to lunch, and watched a storm dump 0.25″ of rain over 15 minutes and then clear up. We spent time back at the campsite, dreaming of dry air, and packing up a few items in advance of check-out in the morning.
